ABOUT

ItoStauffer Architects partnership was founded in 2016 in Kent Ohio as a highly productive design studio and urban planning workshop. Each project is undertaken as an original investigation of programmatic requirements, client intentions, and the specific conditions of context, community and site.

The configuration/reconfiguration of restoration, renovation/addition, interior design, and new construction. Ideas are rigorously investigated and presented as mapping, diagramming, sketching, three-dimensional computer rendering, models, maquettes, and on-site design decision making.

Principal Thom Stauffer, AIA received his Bachelor of Architecture [cum laude] at Kent State University and a Master of Architecture and Master of City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania.  He is the recipient of the 2003 Cleveland Arts Prize, and he has been awarded 32 AIA Design Awards including seven AIA Ohio Design Awards, Architect Magazine Home of the Year recognition in 2006 and a Shaker Heights Preservation Award in 2013.  Mika Ito, AIA, LEED AP received her Master of Architecture from Kent State University and a recipient of a Cleveland AIA Design Award for South Park House as principal architect and a Merit Award in Design as a student.
